Donald Mitski

Donald Mitski is an account annalist for a company that does finances for large corporations. He takes the train to Chicago ever morning instead of driving so he can start his work early and avoid the stresses of the traffic. As he sits on the train he hardly does any work, he has his laptop open so it looks like he is focused and hard working. He sees others on the train talking to friends and spouses and he secretly watches them. At work acts chipper towards all of his co-workers in hopes that someone might ask him to go out for drinks after work, unfortunately many of them think he is a creep and avoid having anything more than water cooler conversations. He rides the train home with a 20oz miller lite to take the edge off. Donald is a bachelor at the tender age of 43. He lives in a distant suburb of Chicago for the quiet atmosphere, but it greatly hurts his dating potential. He knows he is not the most attractive man, so he does not get out and play the field. Most nights when he gets home, he makes a frozen pizza and sits on the couch watching TV and has a few beers with his cat named Claire. He turns off the TV at 11:30 and goes to bed and has dreams of true companionship. His last relationship ended his senior year of high school with a girl named Jackie; he broke up with her when summer started because he thought that he was going to have tons of options in college. Turns out, in college he couldn’t get many dates, so he tried the party scene. He had a few drunken hookups at frat parties, but after a while the girls stayed away from him because he was always drunk. Today, he plans on going on e-harmony and hopes he will turn out like the commercials.
